Following last year’s theme “Under Pressure”, our 2026 focus will be “Staying Ahead of the Curve”, a topic that directly addresses the challenges and opportunities within the automotive design industry.

Stephen Budd - Music Producer

Stephen Budd is a veteran British music industry executive and artist manager based in London. He has spent decades at the heart of the music industry.  Starting as a teenage roadie for Motörhead at their first ever shows, the former Chairman of the MMF (Music Managers Forum),  has managed - and continues to manage - Artists and Record Producers whose work has collected multiple BRIT and Grammy Awards, alongside hundreds of Gold and Platinum discs.

His artist management roster has included artists such as Gang of Four, The Magic Numbers, Tanita Tikaram, Heaven 17, Dry the River, The Sound, Songhoy Blues and more recently, Nubiyan Twist.  For decades he has represented world-class producers  (via his business Record-producers.com) including Tony Visconti (David Bowie), Mike Hedges (U2, The Cure), Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey), Rick Nowels (Lana Del Rey, Madonna), Chris Kimsey (Rolling Stones) and many more.

For nearly 20 years Stephen has collaborated with Damon Albarn on the Africa Express project, which he co-founded, bringing together internationally famous artists from across continents to create groundbreaking collaborative musical live events and recordings. 

He is a director of OneFest Festival, is the co-founder of the NH7 Weekender festivals in India, and helped in the creation of the DMZ Peace Train Festival in Korea. He is also a founder of the newly formed Soul-JazzCTY Festival in London summer 2027. Stephen created a variety of Charity projects including WarChild’s annual “Passport Back To The Bars" concerts, now called BritsWeek and also co-produced Amnesty International and Sofar Sounds' ‘Give A Home’ global concert series for refugees.

He is a recognised TV commentator on music industry issues, regularly appearing on BBC, and a fanatical vinyl collector.
